Anastasia Kovaleva is a contemporary artist based in Wrocław, Poland. She creates floral collages using pressed flowers, seeds, foliage and other natural materials.
Her work brings together the traditional Japanese technique of Oshibana with a contemporary approach to collage and visual art. Working with fragile botanical materials, she explores the relationship between nature, beauty and time, transforming plants that would otherwise fade into lasting works of art.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Homo Faber in Venice, and has received awards in international pressed flower art competitions in the USA, Japan, South Korea and China.
She studied Painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland, graduating in 2018.
Her artistic practice is rooted in a close observation of nature and the slow, meticulous process of collecting, preserving and arranging botanical materials by hand. Her practice encompasses botanical collages, portraits, landscapes and fine art prints, all created through her distinctive approach to natural materials.
